Bitter Melon Became a Medicine

Musa Karaduman, who has been interested in the production of the Bitter Melon, said very beneficial for human health and good for various ailments, that he met this fruit as a result of the illness he experienced. Karaduman said that he was diagnosed with an ulcer, and he decided to cure with Bitter Melon, he met upon a recommendation. Karaduman said, "I had an illness, so, I got into this business. Then we expanded the production. It is a very useful fruit. We also have our individual efforts to reach more people. I had a stomach ailment, it was diagnosed ulcer. Thanks God I'm very healthy now." he said.

'A HIGHLY USEFUL FRUIT'

Karaduman stated the bitter melon, which has a very short shelf life, is now being cultivated by many people in Alanya, "It grows in many parts of Alanya. In the past, we had a few roots. There are almost in every garden here. But, I would like to share with more people. "It is a very useful fruit in the days of coronavirus," he said.

Sevilgen, "The bitter melon does not seem to be very beneficial, because of very short shelf life. The producer is in a bit of trouble regarding this. The bitter melon is first cut in green, it turns to red within a few days. It has red seeds inside. We can not consume it as beneficial fruit, it should be used as medicine

'SHOULD BE USED AS A MEDICINE'

Sevilgen, who said that the producer sells the bitter melon between 1 - 2 liras in the garden, said, "It is sold in the grocery stores and greengrocers at varying prices from time to time between 3-7 TL. We do not ship directly to export right now. Because the shelf life is very short. We are trying to consume it only in the country. But, it should not be consumed only as fruit, it should be used as medicine. It can be sent as medicine when it is processed in jars for 1-2 months.
